Michelet Fontaine, Founder of ENVIROPRO Consulting, LLC

Michelet Fontaine, the founder of ENVIROPRO Consulting LLC, is a natural resources management specialist. He holds a MS in watershed management, and brings over 40 years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and building capacity in:

  • Biodiversity and wildlife management;
  • Natural resources and watershed management;
  • Climate-resilient agricultural development;
  • Community-based development;
  • Agroforestry and livelihoods improvement; and
  • Clean energy.

Michelet is a former USAID/Haiti Mission Environmental Officer (MEO) and Watershed Management Specialist with experience conducting and overseeing development of Initial Environmental Examinations (IEE), Environmental Assessments (EAs), and ensuring environmental compliance of USAID programs. He also has successful experience facilitating implementing partners’ environmental compliance through the development, implementation and monitoring of EAs, Environmental Mitigation and Monitoring Plans and Reports (EMMPs and EMPRs), Pesticide Evaluation Report and Safer Use Action Plans (PERSUAPs), among others.

Michelet has extensive successful experience serving as chief of party as well as country, regional and home office director leading, managing, and coordinating multinational, national, and regional multimillion and pluridisciplinary programs. His program design skills include integration of environmental and climate considerations into development projects and programs. He has experience establishing new program offices in several countries as well as overseeing multicultural teams.

Michelet Fontaine’s international experience includes Afghanistan, Botswana, Dominica, Democratic Republic of Congo, French Guiana, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Lebanon, Mali, Moldova, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, Suriname and Uganda. Michelet is fluent in English, French, and Haitian Creole.
